Movie composer reveals musical resolutions

Celebrated young composer Nico Muhly, who composed the score for the film The Reader, has two New Year's resolutions, one artistic and one civic. WSJ's Michelle Wu reports.

Untold Truths

 

Untold Truths was the album recently released by Kevin Costner and Modern West. And it's generally an untold truth that albums by actors generally suck (with a few admitted exceptions - I loved Minnie Driver's album, for one). Kevin's new music doesn't fit that mold either.

Kevin met John Coinman of Modern West 20 years ago in an actin workshop. They started a band then, Roving Boy. All of the music on the new album was written by Costner and Modern Boy.

New Quantum of Solace (aka Bond) Theme Available

Another Way To Die (Feat. Jack White) - Alicia Keys

"Another Way to Die" - Alicia Keys and Jack White's modern take on the classic Bond Theme for Quantum Solace - is now available for listening. With this song, Jack White and Alicia Keys have joined the group of stars that have previously recorded Bond themes - including Madonna, Shirley Bassey, Duran Duran, and Paul McCartney.

Keys told PopEater that working with the Jack was "very cool." She said, "The creativity just flowed. He is a fantastic musician. The respect we both have for each other showed through in the studio and in the song." Keys says her Bond Girl name would be Fingertips and that in a fight with 007, the winner would be "Jack White, for sure!"

Quantum of Solace is currently set for release at theatres on Nov. 14.
