The new Disney film, Bolt, is opening nationwide around Thanksgiving. It's one of the first films from Disney since the company bought Pixar in 2006 and looked to its executives to "update" Disney's classic look.
The movie, first written and directed by Chris Sanders (of Lilo & Stitch fame), was originally named American Dog. Pixar execs decided the movie wouldn't work as is, and when Sanders left they renamed it Bolt. They alos issued the new animation team a challenge: Finish the project in 18 months instead of the four years it normally takes to complete a computer-generated animation film.
They did it. But just barely. When the film was previewed for theatre owners and journalists in September, it was only 80% complete.
